An entertainment-focused Ethereum Layer 3 network called XProtocol has announced the launch of pre-sales for its XForge smartphone; with 10,000 units available, priced at $299 each. The company recently announced the launch of its phone and has made rapid progress following the successful sale of Xardian nodes aimed at empowering and rewarding communities.

“The first 10,000 units will be priced at $299 each, with an expected price increase thereafter as the mobile device will also give away free Xardian nodes to its users and provide a unique opportunity to join the DePIN network directly from their phone. earning rewards, airdrops and other crypto-based incentives,” said Dragonix, a contributor to XProtocol.

The company also recently announced the completion of several rounds of funding worth $5.2 million. Round participants included Dragonfly Capital, Coinfund, Razer, Caballeros Capital, MSA, Saison Capital, zVentures, Cogitent Ventures and Zephyrus Capital.

XProtocol’s unique value lies in its use of Base superchain technology (Ethereum L2), as the company operates as a fun and gaming layer 3 blockchain that offers a scalable infrastructure and a developer-friendly platform for partner projects. It is also compatible with all Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) projects, allowing easy migration of projects and developer tools.

Although the scope is unknown, the company has also confirmed the launch of a suite of DApps in the phone’s app store, making it a gateway for users to easily access web3 apps and tools built on the XProtocol superchain.

The device will feature high-end specs optimized for gaming – including an octa-core processor, a Nano Dual card, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

The Xardian nodes offered with the phone aim to help decentralize the XProtocol network, as the company said operators should receive rewards for participating in the network’s consensus process. The company also recently locked up 20% of its total token supply for node licensees to distribute within 36 months of the company’s mainnet launch later this year. Launched early last month, XProtocol has already publicly sold over 5,000 nodes.

Set to launch the mainnet in the fourth quarter of 2024, XProtocol has a team with several years of experience creating and contributing to top web3 titles. The company aims to improve blockchain-based gaming by enabling creators to develop, deploy and scale consumer-facing products from the ground up, covering everything from initial infrastructure to end-to-end deployment.
